From Scatwell, you can easily have a day trip to the Isle of Skye and the castle of Eilean Donan which lays on the shore of the mainland overlooking the Isle of Skye. Nearer home up Strathconon Glen

Scatwell House sits 5 miles up Strathconnon Glen. Strathconon extends for 20 miles. The landscape changes from green lush open countryside at the beginning of the glen to a mountainous and remote landscape at itshead. An impressive and remote place of natural beauty.

The Glen has a population of approximately 400 people, so it has retained its isolated and peaceful atmosphere. In fact, if you feel energized, you can walk from Scardroy along the old drovers road to Achnasheen on the other side of the glen.

The glen is home to many varieties of flora and fauna and Golden Eagles can be seen soaring high above the mountain tops.
